The day will begin at 9:45 am at the gate to Eden Cemetery on Springfield Road with a guided walking tour of Eden called Riding the Rails Taking it to the Streets featuring people involved in the struggle for human dignity and desegrating streetcars. These include Caroline LeCount, William Still, Octavius Catto, John Mott Drew, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, and many other Citizens of Eden.
At 11:00 at Darby Library (1001 Main Street) the winners of the 2024 Art Contest for fifth graders sponsored by Sharon Bank will be announced. We will also sing trolley songs and wait for the refurbished mid-century streamlined PCC trolley at noon for the first of two trolley tours through 400 years of history. Trolley tours are at Noon and 1:00 with the possibility of a special bonus. www.OcTrolleyFest.quest.

From Darby Library to Blue Bell via Woodland along the route of the original 1858 streetcar past the site of Summit Army Hospital mentioned in William Still’s Petition, to 58th street; to Chester avenue then to Mount Moriah, through a wonderful zig zag , across and along Cobbs Creek, past Hilldale Park, past the home and garage of transportation and civil-rights advocate John Mott Drew, Past Mount Zion AMC, past the Edward Bacon Recreation Center and back to the Darby Free Library.
